QuickMath
QuickMath is a tool that allows you to do simple calculations in a more efficient way. Instead of using an outside source to make your calculations, you can make them within QuickBooks. QuickBooks will then enter the new information for you.
Note: QuickMath can only be used in form windows.
How to Use QuickMath:
- Open the form you'd like to use.
- Click in one of the number fields. Then click on the calculator icon that will appear to the right of the field.
- A small window will appear with the number from the field you've selected. If you want to add to this number, simply type the amount you'd like to add in the given space.
- If you need to do other types of calculations besides adding, click the "Shortcuts" drop-down at the bottom of the window.
- Select the type of calculation you'd like to make: add, subtract, multiply, or divide. You can also create a subtotal, clear a row, and clear the tape if desired.
- When you're finished, click Finish at the bottom of the Shortcuts list or select "return" on your keyboard. QuickBooks will update the field to include your new calculation.
Note: You can also open the QuickMath window by using shortcuts to do calculations. To do this, click on the desired field and type the shortcut for adding (+), subtracting (-), multiplying (*), or dividing (/). The QuickMath window will open and you can finish your calculations.
