Creating tags

iNotepad files can organize notes with tags (formerly known as categories). All notes belong by default to the All Notes tag. Create your custom tags, such as Business or Home, to organize your notes.

Here are ways to create a tag:

  • Click the add (“+”) button in the lower left bottom of the tags list.

A new tag will appear highlighted in the tags list, type an appropriate name for it.

  • Choose Notes > Tags > New Tag.

A new tag will appear highlighted in the tags list if it is visible, type an appropriate name for it.

  • Choose View > Show Tags or click the Tags button on the toolbar.

A tags bar will appear at the bottom of the note text showing all the tags assigned to the current note, if any.

Select the bar and type there an appropriate name for the tag and a comma “,” then click the “OK” button in the popover that will appear asking to confirm the tag creation.

The new tag will be automatically assigned to the current note.

You can have as many tags as you want in one iNotepad file.

When you select a tag in the tags list, only the notes associated with that tag will be displayed in the notes list.

If you select more than one tag, all the notes belonging to the selected tags will be displayed.
