You apply a stamp to an e-document in much the same way you apply a rubber stamp to a paper document. You can choose from a list of predefined stamps, or you can create your own stamps.
To add a Stamp:
In the Annotation pane:
Select Stamp in the drop-down list of Annotation types. The most recently used stamp is selected.
Select a stamp from the list by clicking on the area showing the currently selected stamp.
On the page, the cursor takes the shape of a rubber stamp. Click where you want the stamp to be displayed.
You
can move the position of your stamp when it is selected and the move cursor appears
.
Edition options:
In the Annotation pane:
Stamp size: slider from small to large
Stamp orientation: you can choose among a list of predefined orientations: horizontal, 30 degrees, 45 degrees, 60 degrees or vertical

In the Configuration window:
Click on the button Edit.... The Configuration window opens.

Configuration window
Select a stamp from the list on the left and choose your settings on the right:
First line of text: free text
Second line of text: free text. By default, some predefined stamps show the current date on the second line. The latter can be edited.
TIP:
to add the current date or current time to your stamp, you can type in
those predefined variables:
$DATE, $DATE_LONG and $DATE_SHORT: are replaced by the system date according to the date formats defined in the System Preferences
$TIME, $TIME_LONG and $TIME_SHORT: are replaced by the system time according to the time formats defined in the System Preferences
Font size of second line: a slider controls the font size of the text on second line: it can be smaller or equal to the font size of the first line, but not larger.
Color: quick color selection or advanced color selection

Border type: 5 possibilities
No border
Rectangle
Rectangle with rounded corners
Arrow (to the left)
Arrow (to the right)
Note: for the two Arrow types, the color choice will affect the stamp background, the text color being selected automatically.
Border width (disabled if border type is 'no border'): from 0,1 to 20 pt.
Create a custom stamp or delete a stamp from the list:
A custom stamp can be defined at any time from the Settings Menu > PDF Annotation Stamps...
The Configuration window opens.
Click on the
button at the bottom of the
list to create a new custom stamp. Edit.
Or, select an existing stamp and click on the
button to remove it from
the list.
Default features of a Stamp:
The stamps list is saved and remains available after Readiris is quit and restarted. The list is reset when Restore Factory Settings is invoked.
Editing or deleting a stamp in the predefined list does not affect the annotations of the same type already in use.
When a new stamp has been created, the font size of its second line and its border attributes are used as defaults for the next created stamp.
