Here are a few things you should know to get the most out of Blogo.

Connecting your blog

Let’s connect your blog with Blogo. Just go to the Menu Bar > File > New Blog or use the shortcode Shift + Cmd + N.

Create New Post

Go ahead and create a new post. Just click on the New Post button on the upper left of the sidebar. You can also go on File > New Post.

Post List

Go through our Post List to access your older posts and drafts. Show or hide it by clicking on the list button on the sidebar.

Drag & Drop Images

Drag your image from Finder or Browser to Blogo and drop it wherever you want. You can also use the browser extension or click on the “Add Image” button located at the sidebar.

Saving Drafts

Blogo saves everything you write locally, even when you’re offline. If you want to save it on WordPress, Blogger or Evernote as well all you have to do is click on the “Save” button.

Preview Posts

Select the "eye icon" for Live Preview. A new window will pop up so you can see exactly how your post looks like. Keep track of it in real-time.

Warning about Live Preview

When you’re using the Live Preview for the first time, Blogo will need to create a temporary post in your blog that will be deleted in seconds. Make sure automated social sharing and RSS feed plugins are disabled during this process.

Format your text

Highlight any text to see the Format Bar. Style your text using bold, italic and other variations. As easy as pie.

Using Headings

Select the Headings option on the Format Bar or with a right-click on the editor. You can easily change the kind of Heading and even remove it using the selector.

Insert Links

Highlight the sentence or word, select the link icon on the Format Bar and insert the URL. You can also setup the tooltip and if you want the link to open in a new window.

Inline HTML

Add blocks of HTML code to your posts like forms, tables, customized embeds and more! Paste the code into the editor and you’re done or just type /html and start coding right away.

Editing Images

Double click on the placeholder to open the image editor. Crop, adjust, apply filters and set a featured image. Move and position the placeholder inside the post by dragging it.

Image Preview

Visualize the media you’ve added to your post by clicking on the image for a pop over or holding “option” for a quick preview. You can also mouseover the placeholder.

Featured Image (WordPress only)

Set up an image from your post as featured by clicking on the star icon at the top of the image editor. To add a new one that is not on the post click on the gear icon at the bottom of Blogo.

Embed from your favorite sites

This list keeps getting bigger! Blogo allows you to embed content from many cool sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, Imgur, Instagram, SlideShare, SoundCloud, Vine and more!

Today Widget (Yosemite only)

Keep track of your productivity! Turn on Blogo’s Today Widget and check your blog stats. Just go to your Notifications Center, click on Edit, add Blogo and you're done!

Fullscreen Mode

Looking for a distraction-free environment?

Turn on the Full Screen Mode by clicking on the expand button on upper left corner or use the shortcut Ctrl + CMD + F.

Moving & Copying Posts

On the post list right click on the article you would like to move or copy and select one

of the options. Move them between your

blogs if you want to!

Writing metrics

Word counter? Character counter? Estimated Reading Time? We got it. All you gotta do is click on the information icon at the bottom of Blogo! Piece of cake.

Schedule Articles

Click on the calendar icon right next to your post’s title and activate this feature. Set the time and date and you’re ready to go!

Shortcuts

Make your work easier by using our shortcuts to Format, Edit, View and Publish. You can also access Files, Fullscreen and more.

Connect with Evernote

Log in with your blog and select the option to connect with Evernote. It’s optional, to set it up go to Preferences. You can even select which of your blogs will use Evernote or not.

Write your drafts using Evernote

Now that you’re connected, keep writing your drafts using Evernote. Everything will be synced with Blogo so you can edit anytime you want and publish when it's ready.

Wondering how our Smart Sync works?

By using Evernote, your drafts will not be uploaded to WordPress or Blogger but to Evernote instead. To go back and keep saving drafts on WordPress or Blogger go to Preferences, select your blog account and uncheck the “Use Evernote” box.

Send pages or quotes to Blogo

First, install the extension for your browser.

To add a link or a quote to your post open the page or highlight the quote on your browser and click on “Send to Blogo” button.

Embed using Extension

Open any YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion video on your browser and click on “Send to Blogo” button. Then, choose between adding the video as link or embed.

Right click on images

You don’t need to download the images from your browser to insert them in your post.

Right click on the image you want and select “Send to Blogo”.

Moderating blog Comments

Click on the Comments button on Blogo’s sidebar. Select the comment you want and choose between Approve, Delete or Mark

as Spam.

Categories & Tags

As soon as you begin to type the category Blogo will autocomplete it to make it easier. Using tags is really easy too. Just make sure

to put “#” before the words.

Post Options

On Post Options you can choose between

post or pages, customize slugs, set up

featured image properties and allow

comments and pingbacks.

Explore Blogo Preferences

Feeling adventurous? Try going to Blogo > Preferences. That’s all you got to do to set up many options like Featured Image size, Thumb Size Limit, Allow Pingbacks and more!

Changing your blog’s theme?

Fresh new theme? Go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced and choose Refresh Preview option. Remember, the changes apply to the selected blog on the blog’s list!

Custom Fields (WordPress only)

Go to Preferences > Select your blog > Advanced and check the “Use Custom Fields” box. An icon will show up at the bottom of Blogo so you can set it up anytime you want!
