Performance problems: If you have an older PC and/or graphics card and the performance in 3D mode is very slow, try the following:
1) Go into options and switch off the board reflection effect
2) Switch off the shadows in the options
3) Choose another environment or none at all
4) Choose another piece set such as standard II or a animated piece set
4) Run the game width a lower windows resultion and color depth, e.g. 800x600 and 16-bit color depth (high color)

Screen is black: Get the latest driver for your video card and check if at least DirectX9 or a newer version is installed on your PC. You can check this with the windows DXDiag tool.
- Connection problems if you try to start a network game: If a firewall is installed on either side please make sure that port 20000 tcp has been given free in the firewall configuration to enable a connection. In case you are connected to the internet through a router you may also have to configure this port being redirected to your computer there.
